#136 -- True
#89 -- A Matter of Gravity
#86 -- Ignore Mortality

#136, True
(I remember Bill)

When Bill and I were childhood chums,
We planned to own the earth.
Today the plans are long forgot--
A measure of their worth.
But Bill and I remain good friends
And treasure what we own:
A friendship that has lasted time,
That through the years has grown.

True, true, true.

(I remember Mr. Miller.)

Old Mr. Miller showed me math
And algebraic thought;
But more, he showed he cared for me
Beyond the math he taught.
Today I give no special heed
To any math I know,
But when I think of Mr. “M,”
I feel a warming glow.

True, true, true.

(I don’t remember things.)

We strive for things we can’t possess.
We lose the things we own.
We spend our time with nose in book,
Forget the facts we’ve known.
But if we care for those we touch
And show that we’re concerned,
Our caring cannot be forgot,
And love will be returned.

True, true, true.

#89, A Matter of Gravity

Rejoice and be glad
That all things must fall.
Be grateful to gravity--
Cause of it all.

A leaf when it travels
Has one way to go:
And that way is down,
No matter how slow.

Be grateful to gravity--
Cause of it all.

A child when it throws
A rock to the sky
Knows that the rock
Will drop down nearby.

Be grateful to gravity--
Cause of it all.

Yes, all things must fall,
And I'm falling, too.
Rejoice and be glad
I'm falling for you.

Rejoice and be glad
That all things must fall.
Be grateful to gravity--
Cause of it all.

#86, Ignore Mortality

Forget finality !
Ignore mortality,
And you will live a long, long time.
Live life’s totality
With strong vitality !
Make ev’ry day your life’s prime !

With strong vitality
Use your mentality
To mold your life to your plan.
It’s not rascality
To shape reality
You only need to know you can.

To shape reality
With whimsicality
Cannot be viewed as a crime.
Forget finality !
Ignore mortality !
And you will live a long, long time. . .
. . . .a long, long time.
