As A Matter of Fact--

Southwestern Jewish Press September 18, 1953 Page 2

By B.E.S.

It was bound to happen—a well-known syndicate cartoonist, acting as a beauty contest judge, pinned a ribbon on a winner and punctured the inflatable you-know-what…no pictures are available.

It’s hard to believe—La Jolla Western Union office, on the main street of La Jolla carried a banner on its plate glass window, “Send Rosh Hashona Greetings to Your Jewish Friends”… you mean they admit they have any?

The Arts and Crafts Press new building is next door to a fire station—after the horse is stolen?  In case you’ve forgotten—their old plant on 3rd St. burned to the ground a few months ago.

A San Diego business man, upon being told his friends had tickets for “La Boheme" at the Russ last year, asked if it was with the original cast…heavenly voices maybe?

The United Nations might be interested in this—a variety store on Pt. Loma is offering “Swim Finns” for sale.
