JCC survey raises prospect of
San Diego Jewish Museum

SAN DIEGO—The Lawrence Family JCC is testing the waters on a variety of possible new programs including the creation of a new Jewish museum, the creation of a pay-for-view streaming video website for people to watch from home cultural programming at the JCC, and the production of cultural programming in new locales beyond the JCC.

In an online survey, to which community members may still respond, after obtaining demographic information and information about the respondent's current use of the JCC, a series of trial balloon questions are posed.

These include:

1) If we offered programs (e.g., book fair, film festival, theater, music) outside of the JCC, which location would you most likely attend?

2) If we offered our cultural events (book fair lectures, etc.) on our website to be viewed virtually via streaming video/audio, how likely would you be to pay for a subscription?

3) If the JCC offered a Family Center to members for family-related classes (e.g., lamaze, parenting classes, infant massage), how often would you and your family take advantage of it?

4) If the JCC partnered with a local museum to create a permanent San Diego Jewish Museum (including Holocaust content) featuring local artifacts, how likely would you attend regularly (at least once a year)?

5) Would you be willing to to donate any personal Jewish artifacts to such a museum?
