The Don Room of El Cortez Hotel on Sunday, Nov. 22, at 7:00 p.m. will be the site for the traditional dinner dance sponsored by the Jolly Sixteen. This affair will mark the 39th year of continued activity of these energetic women. Founded in 1914 when San Diego was too young to have an organized Jewish Service Association, it was the Jolly 16 who filled the gap for many years.
Its Scholarship Fund in memory of Leon and Lucille Rubel this year provided college opportunity to a deserving new American student. The “Treasured Recipes” Cook Book is now in its 2nd edition and provides funds for the Hebrew Home for the Aged.
Mrs. Saul Chenkin, chairman of the dance, has announced that tables for parties of 4 to 18 can be arranged. Larger parties may have adjoining tables. Tickets may be obtained from any Jolly 16 member or by calling B 7546.

Mrs. Edward Kitaen will serve as General Chairman for this meeting since the event will highlight Hadassah Medical Organization’s projects and Mrs. Perlman will stress the great medical strides made by the organization in Israel.
Mrs. Robert S. Strauss, President, has just returned from the National Convention in Washington, D.C. and will present a brief and stimulating report to the guests.
