Shor comes for a sleepover
as Sandi, Shahar celebrate 7th

January 16, 2007

SAN DIEGO—Today was Sandi's and Shahar's 7th anniversary.  I told Shor that he always could remember how many years his parents were married just by saying the date, as they were married in 2000.  This is 2007 so they have been married seven years.  Sandi said there is an easier way for Shor. All he has to do is remember how old he is and add one year.

In the morning, I brought over a box of candy to the home of Eric and Peggy Sands in honor of Eric's birthday, but he wasn't there.  Peggy and her shitsu dog, Sebastian, and I chatted in the front yard for a while, and not long after I returned home, Dad Zeiden arrived.  Shahar had a flat tire, so I went to Soille San Diego Hebrew Day School to pick up Shor and dad accompanied me.  Sandi and Shahar were at the house when we returned to give Shor a kiss and give us his pajamas.  He was having a sleepover while his parents celebrated making it through seven years.

Peggy Sands and her dog Sebastian come out to say hello.

Nancy greets her Dad, in from Oceanside.  Shor and a friend show off their tae-kwan-do form.

Very fierce yellow belted tae kwan do fighters seen at Soille San Diego Hebrew Day School; also budding
ballet dancers.

Shahar, Sandi and Shor have fun making it tough for me, the photographer, on 7th Anniversary Day.

Judge for yourself: Is there a family resemblance between Nancy and  daughter Sandi?

When Shor does his homework, everyone wants to help.  He is a good student, who loves to learn.

Two family portraits: back row, Nancy and Sam; front row: Sandi, Shahar, Shor.  At right, "siblings"
Sasha and Mutzi, who don't ordinarily get that close to each other.

A family photograph taken by Shor: from left: Grandpa Don; Daddy Shahar; Mommy Sandi; Grandma
Nancy, and Great Grandpa Sam.

Grandpa reads Shor a Batman book; finding it too violent, we soon found more suitable activities.

Eventually, even high energy Shor falls asleep, leaving grandma and great-grandpa time to watch some TV.
