Once
again
Israel
is on the road to probable disaster when it approved transfer of guns to the
Palestinian Authority. How soon people forget. It was
part of the Oslo Accord agreements that
Israel
handed over to the PA 30,000 weapons for the express purpose of maintaining
order in their domain. I argued to no avail that if Billy clubs were ok for
English Bobbies then why was it necessary to turn over so many guns to the
PA.
History is repeating itself. These guns will only encourage more guns and
armaments brought in through
Egypt
over the
Philadelphia
road which never should have never been given up by
Israel
. The Palestinians have plenty of guns with which they haven’t been
able to stem the Qassam rockets fired into southern Israeli towns.
What
Israel
is doing is a prescription for continued internecine war
amongst the Arabs and greater anger toward the Israelis. Israelis are no
superpower in their foreign policies. Hopefully I will be wrong and the
peace process by any name will proceed.
