One of the first names that comes to my mind as an illustrious (late) member of the S.D. Jewish community is that of Professor Abraham P. Nasatir, a member of the San Diego State faculty from, I believe, 1928 to 1974, and a renowned historian. I believe his dates were c. 1905-1990. He was one of my mentors when I 'worked on my master's at State in the '60s. And he was a leader of the Orthodox Jewish community.—Norman Manson, retired, July 8, 2005.
