One year, Avrahom, the fastest slalom-skier in the
world, had great expectations for a Winter Olympics gold medal.
On the day of the final, the French champion sped down the course in 58 seconds,
the Swiss in 58.7 seconds, the German in 1:01.28, the the Italian in
1:01.44 - and Avrahom in 4:23.19.
"What happened?" his coach asked.
"One of those weisenheimers fixed a mezuzah to each gate,"
Avrahom said.
