93. Sol is lying on his deathbed. Manny, his oldest son, sits by him. Sol's
wife, Jenny, is in the kitchen, baking her famous rugelach.
The aroma drifts from the kitchen to the bedroom.
Sol says to Manny, "Do me this favor. Go bring me one of Mama's rugelach so
I should die a happy man with that taste on my tongue."
Manny goes into the kitchen and reaches for a rugelach from the plate.
Before he can even touch it, Leah slaps his hand away and shouts:
"Don't touch!"
"But Mama," Manny says, "It's for Papa. He only wants to
have the taste of your rugelach on his lips when he dies."
"Get out of here!!" she says. "They're for the shiva!"
