As retold by
Bruce Lowitt
Chaim Yankel needs his tallis dry-cleaned. On Monday he
takes it to Wing Fong, the town's best dry-cleaner, and tells him he'll
need it by Thursday afternoon.
"Fine." the dry cleaner says.
On Thursday, Yankel returns. He gets his tallis and a bill for twenty-five
dollars.
"Twenty-five dollars to dry-clean one tallis?" Yankel exclaims.
"Oh, no, no!" "Wing Fong says. "Five dollars to clean the
tallis. Twenty dollars to take out all those knots!"
