It is only a little more than a half of a
century since Adolph Hitler told the world of his plans to destroy the Jews. The
world did not take his threat seriously. It has been argued that western nations
were so deep in their struggle to overcome the depression after WW 1, that they
could not pay much attention to the German dictator, but they were rudely
awakened when he marched into the Rhineland and followed up with devouring
Austria
. This aggression had nothing to do with his public desire to destroy the
Jews. Then as the Democracies are wont to do,
England
sent over Neville Chamberlain to talk to Hitler and he got talked into a
euphoric treaty that that would bring peace in “our time” which dissolved
after the announcement was made on his return. That announcement of Chamberlain
seems to resemble George W. Bush’s “
Mission
accomplished” political
pronouncement.
All of the above should offer some warning
to the free word and supporters if there are any left at the United Nations. I
am referring to the total lack of condemnation of the belligerent Hitleresque
diatribes of Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad. He has publicly called for
the annihilation and the destruction of a member of the United Nations and
outside of a little resentment of the
United States
, the whole world is relatively silent. This lack of outcry should send shivers
not only up the spines of Israelis but of the whole civilized world.
It would be reasonable not to hear any protest from the Islamic world
since they all reflect the desire of Ahmadinejad, but just sit back in their
tents and palaces and relish the unease of the civilized world.
Iran
, well heeled with oil revenues enjoys the fumbling of the
US
in not being able to muster
China
and
Russia
to side with sanctions in the UN. The League of Nations couldn’t stop Hitler
and the UN will not be able to thwart
Iran
, so my dear friends be on the watch for Bush and
company to attempt some appeasement which will lead eventually to super conflict
of Islam against Jews and Christians.
Israel
throughout all this turmoil over Iranian nuclear threats should sharpen its
plans for a worst-case scenario and be prepared to find itself with hardly
any friends at all to support their survival. America bogged down in
Iraq is very much like the US Civil War when the North after four years of
battling the south was getting very weary of war and came close to giving up the
battle when Confederate General Robert E. Lee surrendered. Do not believe that
the
US
would not be intimidated to throw
Israel
to the lions if its sense of survival depended on
Israel
’s sacrifice.
