Military service at US NH Balboa and deployment with 1st Division United States Marine Corps, Vietnam, honorable discharge 1966. Lifetime member of the American Society for Surgery of the Hand Member of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgery and the American Orthopaedic Association. Associate clinical professor of orthopaedic surgery at UCSD, consultant in Hand Surgery US Navy Medical Center, San Diego, and clinical instructor in orthopaedic surgery at USC. Member of the California Orthopaedic Association, the Western Orthopaedic Association, the California Medical Association, and the San Diego County Medical Society. Past president of the Sunderland Society for Peripheral Nerve Study, past vice chief of staff of Sharp Memorial Hospital, past chairman of the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery at Alvarado Hospital and Medical Center, and president elect of the California Society of Industrial Medicine and Surgery. Author of over 65 original articles and book chapters involving topics associated with nerve injury, reconstructive hand and upper extremity surgery.
