March 5, 2006—Daniel Rotto his honored by his son and daughter in law, Gary & Kathleen Rotto, on the website of the Louis Rose Society for the Preservation of Jewish History

March 10, 2006—San Diego Jewish Times, page 6:
On March 4, 2006 Dan Rotto, 83 years old, honored Congregation Dor Hadash by being called to Torah for his second bar mitzvah. His Dvar Torah was in two parts. The first part dealt with the Torah portion Terumah, which has to do with a philosophical discussion of the difference between Terumah - an offering - and Tszdeka - a commanded offering. He then discussed the Haftarah portion wherein King Solomon is instructed to build a permanent Bais Hamikdash, the one place on earth where God's presence was said to be overtly manifest and where actual "miracles' took place. After discussing the construction of the two Mishkans - one at Mt. Sinai and then King   Solomon's more permanent Bais Hamikdash, Dan discussed his passion Reconstructionist Judaism - examining some of Rabbi Mordechai Kaplan's philosophy and how it dearly affected him. The Rottos have been committed Reconstructionists for many years. Dan and his wife, Helene, are two of the founding members of Congregation Dor Hadash in', 1983; Dan served for many years as a board member and was President from 1989-1991.

April 28, 2006—Daniel Rotto designates Rabbi Yaffa-Shira Sultan as an honoree of the Louis Rose Society for the Preservation of Jewish History.
