SAN DIEGO--Working at the Lawrence Family Jewish Community Center and participating in Jewish events at other venues throughout San Diego County, Melanie Rubin is well-positioned to spot and photograph Jewish-themed license plates wherever she goes. Here, for example, is one she recently shot of someone whose license proclaims is a real mensch, quite a person!
On a recent visit to Ben Yehuda Street in Jerusalem, Melanie strode into The Big Apple pizza parlor and was surprised to find American license plates on the wall, including one from Ohio which bore the beginning of the Shma Israel prayer telling Israel to hear that The Lord our God is one. Of course, she captured the image for the rest of us.
We have added both images to our online collection.
