Kitzel, the only Jewish boy in a small town, is attending his first day of public school. The teacher decides to use her position to try to influence him. She asks the class, "Who was the greatest man that ever lived?"

A girl raises her hand and says, "George Washington was the greatest man that ever lived because he is the Father of our country."

"That's a good answer," the teacher says, "but not the answer I'm looking for."

Another student raises his hand and says, "I think it was Abraham Lincoln because he freed the slaves and helped end the civil war."

"Also a good answer, but not the one I'm looking for."

Then Kitzel raises his hand and says, "I think Jesus Christ was the greatest man that ever lived."

The teacher is stunned. "Yes!" she says. "That's the answer I was looking for." She then brings him up to the front of the classroom and gives him a lollipop.

During recess, his curious classmates surround him and one asks, "Why did you say, 'Jesus Christ'?"

Kitzel stops licking his lollipop and says,  "Actually, it was Moses, but business is business."
