69. "Who's he going to tell?"

jewishsightseeing.com,  June 1, 2006

As retold by Bruce Lowitt

The rabbi, an avid golfer -  more of an addict, actually -  played at every opportunity.

One Yom Kippur, the rabbi thought, "What's it going to hurt if I go out during the recess and play a few rounds? Nobody will be the wiser."

So he sneaked out after the morning service and headed straight for the golf course.

Looking down upon the scene were Moses and God.

Moses said, "A Jew playing golf on Yom Kippur. A Rabbi, no less."

And God said, "Watch, I'm going to teach him a lesson."

The rabbi swung and the ball sailed through the fairway, onto the green, and into the hole for an ace.

And Moses said, "This you call a lesson? A hole-in-one?"

And God said, "Who's he going to tell?"
