REFLECTIONS ~ Sheila Orysiek

Sunrise

I look out upon the ocean’s surf
And see the sun arise
And it tells of the new day’s gift
Birthing before my eyes

At first a small glowing cloud
And silken ruffling breeze
That is seconded in every way
Upon the surface of the seas

The waves pound upon the beach
All aglow and clean of sin
And then I know without a doubt
The new day births within

Born in the world and born in me
Both give life to the day
The new light is coming on
And I am part of the play

It’s a gift from the Creator
Bright from His hand
I am stunned with amazement as
I watch Him light the land

How to spend His earnest gift
Is my happy purpose which
My heart yearns to oblige Him
And carry out His wish

I leave my foot prints on the beach
And dance on to greet the hours
Which He has bequeathed to me
Both sunshine and showers

Part and parcel of His plan
I am not separate from the morn
Birthed from His wisdom
The new day and I are born
